Welcome to Parents Reaching Out
The mission of Parents Reaching Out is to provide peer counseling to families facing the challenges of a high-risk pregnancy or critically ill infant or child.
Parents Reaching Out fulfills its mission by seeking to ensure long-term preventive healthcare for parents and children. The agency works to reduce stress caused by hospital stays, increase hope for families, provide emotional support, enhance coping skills, increase awareness of the need for medical follow-up exams and encourage preventive health care. Services are provided at no cost to families experiencing high-risk pregnancies or with children and/or infants in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or in Pediatric Critical Care Unit (PCCU) at Vanderbilt's Children's Hospital, Centennial Medical Center and Baptist Hospital. On May 2, 2009, Parents Reaching Out held the first annual "A Day at the Derby" at the Crow's Nest in Green Hills. With the help of our guests and sponsors, we raised over $25,000 for families facing the challenges of a high-risk pregnancy or a critically ill infant or child.
In celebration, Nashville Lifestyles is offering a special $18 subscription rate. Subscribe at www.nashvillelifestyles.com and receive a FREE 2009 City Guide. In addition, Underology will donate 25% of online product purchases to Parents Reaching Out. Visit www.underology101.com; click on "Parents Reaching Out" as your charity of choice at checkout.
